Finneas, known for his work with Billie Eilish, has been tapped to compose the original score for the second season of Netflix's anthology series Beef, following the show's April 16, 2026 premiere announcement. Creator Lee Sung Jin praised Finneas's ability to musically capture dark emotions, with the new season featuring Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan amid country club conflicts.

Building on the January announcement of Beef season 2's premiere date, cast, and plot—centered on a young couple entangled in their country club bosses' unraveling marriage—Netflix revealed on March 12 that Finneas will provide the original score.

Finneas, a two-time Oscar winner for songs from Barbie and No Time to Die, previously scored films like The Fallout and Vengeance, as well as the series Disclaimer. He shared, “Spent the last 12 months in Beef land … very grateful to [creator Lee Sung Jin] for involving me, very grateful for the incredible performances from the entire cast. I probably watched every scene 100 times while I scored the show, and I felt it every time. True fan of this show, very honored and proud to be a part of it.”

Lee Sung Jin commented, “Finneas is the brilliant mind behind most of the music that has soundtracked my personal life over the last decade, so it’s an absolute honor to collaborate with him on the new season. He has an incredible ability to make the darkest emotions sound so achingly beautiful, and I cannot wait for everyone to hear what he’s cooked up.”

The season expands the cast with Youn Yuh-jung as Chairwoman Park, the club's billionaire owner, Song Kang-ho as her husband, and Seoyeon Jang. It builds on season 1's success, which starred Ali Wong and Steven Yeun and won multiple Emmys including for outstanding limited series.

Cosa dice la gente

Reactions on X to Finneas O’Connell composing the score for Netflix's Beef season 2 are predominantly positive, with users praising his moody, tension-building style as a perfect fit for the show's themes. High-engagement announcements from Netflix and pop culture accounts dominate, alongside fan excitement for the April 16 premiere; no significant negative sentiments found.
