Following the Entertainment Weekly preview, A24 released the first official photos from Michael Sarnoski's The Death of Robin Hood on December 16, highlighting Hugh Jackman's rugged transformation amid Northern Ireland's rainy landscapes. Additional insights include cast looks and Jackman's wrap post.
Updated First-Look Stills
A24's December 16 release features Hugh Jackman, 57, as a weathered Robin Hood with long curly gray hair, thick matching beard, and dark fur-layered costume suited to the film's chilly, wet Northern Ireland setting. Co-stars shine too: Bill Skarsgård as Little John with a buzzed haircut and full beard, and Jodie Comer in blue attire overlooking the terrain.
Production Wrap and Jackman's Reflections
Filming concluded in March 2025. On March 25, Jackman posted on Instagram about the experience: “There is a depth, a camaraderie and a spirit to the entire cast and crew... Thank you Ireland!!!! Your beauty knows no bounds.” The post showed his makeup removal process.
Jackman teased his physique to Entertainment Weekly: "You will be seeing some [of Hugh's] musclebound physique." This builds on the film's exploration of a scarred, regretful outlaw, as previously detailed.
