Florida mom charged with stealing Disney pins alongside daughter

Ivette Perez, 52, faces charges of grand theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after allegedly conspiring with her juvenile daughter to steal collectible Disney pins from a store at Disney Springs.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on April 12 at the Disney's Pin Traders store in Orlando. Employees reported seeing the girl take between 15 and 40 pins without paying, while Perez distracted staff by requesting a bag. Deputies tracked down the pair after the girl left the store. Perez told officers she knew her daughter was stealing the items because they lacked money to pay, and text messages recovered from her phone allegedly urged the girl to hurry and leave. Perez was found with items worth about $40, while her daughter held roughly $2,000 in stolen goods. She remains on probation for a prior fraud case in Miami-Dade County. Perez was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail before posting bond. She has pleaded not guilty, with no court date listed yet.
