Former WWE star Santos Escobar sends message to Triple H and Nick Khan

Santos Escobar posted a farewell message on social media on July 21 as his 90-day non-compete period with WWE nears its end this week.

Escobar, who returned to using his El Hijo del Fantasma name, wrote that he gave everything during his six years with WWE and has no regrets. "I'll keep growing my legend and my indentation in the industry. Watch me Paul and Nick," the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion stated in the post.

The wrestler was among more than two dozen talents released by WWE in late April 2026 following post-WrestleMania cuts. He had re-signed with the company on improved terms in late 2025 after his prior contract expired but received limited television opportunities afterward.

Escobar's final televised WWE match occurred in May 2025 on SmackDown against Rey Fenix. His last official match for the promotion took place in January 2026 at an NXT house show. The 90-day non-compete clause for several released talents, including Escobar, is set to conclude this week.
