An official Xbox podcast video featuring Gears of War: E-Day was quickly made private after it showed cover art with a PS5 logo. The incident has renewed speculation about the game's last-minute shift to Xbox exclusivity.
The video was uploaded one day after the Xbox Games Showcase, where the title was confirmed as a console exclusive for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It was removed shortly after going live on YouTube. A screenshot shared online displayed the game's artwork including a PS5 logo. This added to earlier reports of a recent decision to drop PlayStation 5 support following a PEGI rating leak. Xbox vice president Aaron Greenberg addressed the matter on X. He stated that knowledge of the exclusivity change was limited to a small internal group to prioritize the showcase announcement. Greenberg noted he learned of the decision about a month earlier. Gears of War: E-Day is scheduled for release on 6 October. Another title, Clockwork Revolution, has also been confirmed as an Xbox console exclusive with a 2027 target.
