GTA Online Safehouse in the Hills: Buying and Customizing Luxury Mansions

Following the Safehouse in the Hills update's launch on December 10, 2025—which brought new missions featuring Michael De Santa, vehicles, and more (as covered in our overview)—players can now purchase and deeply customize three high-end mansions in Los Santos, essential for accessing the update's KnoWay Out missions.

Purchasing a Mansion

Access the Prix Luxury Real Estate website through your in-game phone to buy one of three available properties:
- Tongva Estate: $11,500,000
- Vinewood Residence: $12,200,000
- Richman Villa: $12,800,000

Complete the new Listing missions for discounts, bringing prices down to around $10 million. A mansion purchase is required to unlock the KnoWay Out missions, including the Michael De Santa storyline mission. After selecting a property, customize it on-screen before confirming; a waypoint then guides you to the instance via a blue sphere (no entry cutscene).

Extensive Customization Options

Customization starts at purchase with interior styles (tint, pattern, decor—some extras cost hundreds of thousands). Add rooms like an Armory, Arcade, Podium, and Vehicle Workshop, plus security upgrades and AI Assistant voices.

Once inside, use the interaction menu's Mansion Management for further personalization:
- Decorations (with previews)
- Trophies and plaques (earned ones only)
- Gym equipment for stat boosts
- Pet area (dogs or cats, with naming and breed options)

Standard amenities include a barber, tattoo shop, spa, and AI tablet for managing exits, parties, and businesses. These mansions draw inspiration from GTA V's single-player homes for protagonists like Michael and Franklin, offering luxury living in GTA Online.

Future Expansions

Rockstar may enhance mansion features via the new Mission Creator tool included in the update. Dataminers have noted potential GTA 6 ties, like movement references, though unconfirmed.
