Gulls' Clang and Canucks' Berard added to AHL All-Star rosters

The American Hockey League has added San Diego Gulls goaltender Calle Clang and Abbotsford Canucks forward Ben Berard to the Pacific Division roster for the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic. Abbotsford defenseman Kirill Kudryavtsev will be unable to participate in the event, set for February 10-11 in Rockford, Illinois.

The 2026 AHL All-Star Classic, presented by BMO, will take place at the BMO Center in Rockford, Illinois, on February 10-11. This addition comes as the league prepares for a showcase of its top young talent, with the event featuring the AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Tuesday, February 10, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. The skills event will see All-Stars from the two Eastern Conference divisions compete against those from the two Western Conference divisions in seven events.

On Wednesday, February 11, at the same time, the AHL All-Star Challenge will unfold as a 3-on-3 round-robin tournament. Four teams will play six games of eight minutes each, with the top two advancing to an eight-minute championship final.

The weekend also includes the AHL Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony on February 11 at noon ET/11 a.m. CT, inducting Chris Bourque, Alexandre Giroux, Jim Wiemer, and Wendell Young. Honorary captains for the All-Star Classic are Patrick Sharp and Kris Versteeg.

Broadcast coverage will be available on NHL Network in the United States, TSN in Canada, and streaming on AHLTV via FloHockey. The production, handled by the Chicago Sports Network and airing on CHSN, features play-by-play announcer Alan Fuehring, color commentator Garrett Mitchell, and rinkside reporter Dana Grey. Fans can access the Hall of Fame ceremony live on AHLTV or for free on FloHockey's social channels including YouTube, Facebook, and X.

Since 1995, more than 94 percent of AHL All-Star Classic participants have advanced to the National Hockey League, including notable players like Yaroslav Askarov, Jordan Binnington, Connor Hellebuyck, and William Nylander. The AHL, in operation since 1936, serves as the primary development league for all 32 NHL teams, with nearly 90 percent of current NHL players being AHL graduates.
