Health minister says voluntary services benefit citizens

Ethiopian Health Minister Dr. Mekdes Daba said voluntary health services are benefiting many citizens.

Dr. Mekdes Daba visited free heart surgery services at St. Peter's Hospital in Addis Ababa provided by Heart Attack Ethiopia. She said the service is reducing the number of patients waiting for heart surgery and contributing significantly to saving lives.

Heart Attack Ethiopia coordinator Dr. Tesfaye Telila said the team performed heart surgery on 34 patients in one week and saved lives.

The health minister thanked hospital staff and the volunteer team members. She noted that various voluntary health services are being delivered across the country.
