IFL Watches releases Citizen Tsuyosa Calavera collection

IFL Watches has introduced the Citizen Tsuyosa Calavera Collection, featuring two limited-edition models with hand-painted dials inspired by Mexico's Día de los Muertos tradition. The collection honors the Day of the Dead celebrations on November 1st and 2nd, emphasizing vibrant symbols like sugar skulls. Each model is produced in a limited run of 200 pieces, available from March 2nd, 2026.

Día de los Muertos, observed annually in Mexico on November 1st and 2nd, is a cultural festival that welcomes the spirits of the departed through colorful festivities, including ofrendas adorned with marigolds, sugar skulls, music, and food. To commemorate this tradition, IFL Watches has launched the Citizen Tsuyosa Calavera Collection, consisting of two special editions of the Citizen Tsuyosa watch with hand-painted dials drawing from the calavera, or decorated sugar skull, motif.

The Calavera Nocturna model builds on the 40mm black-dial Citizen Tsuyosa. Its dial features an ornate sugar skull wearing a red and green sombrero, surrounded by colorful maracas, bones, butterflies, ornamental swirls, and flowers against a black backdrop. The stainless steel case measures 40mm in diameter, 11.7mm thick, and 45mm lug-to-lug, paired with a President-style bracelet. It includes applied lume-filled markers and a date window at 3 o'clock, but omits the sapphire crystal's date magnifier to preserve the artwork's clarity. White lume ensures readability despite the detailed design.

In contrast, the Calavera Turquesa uses the smaller 37mm ice-blue dial Tsuyosa. The upper dial retains the original ice-blue for a sky-like effect, while the lower half displays a bone-colored skull entwined with a purple snake on a bed of hand-painted flowers in pink, blue, orange, and coral. This version has a 37mm stainless steel case, 11.5mm thickness, and 41.9mm lug-to-lug, complete with a minute track, applied lume-filled indexes, and a date magnifier for a subtler aesthetic.

Both models house the Citizen 8210 automatic caliber, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour with 21 jewels and a 42-hour power reserve, visible through a sapphire display case back. With 200 hand-painted dials per model, each piece is unique. They are priced at €890, US$890, or £790 and become available on the IFL Watches website starting March 2nd, 2026, at 16:00 CET.
