ILCA Open India Sailing Championship concludes in Hyderabad

The inaugural ILCA Open India International Sailing Championship concluded on Saturday at Hussainsagar Lake in Hyderabad. The event was held alongside the Yachting Association of India’s 40th Hyderabad Sailing Week 2026.

The competition took place at the EME Sailing Association on Hussainsagar Lake. Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, Commandant of the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, presided over the closing ceremony and presented awards to the winners.

The championship featured 124 sailors from 19 sailing clubs and institutions. Participants included 19 women and girls along with representatives from the Army, Navy, civilian establishments and international competitors.

Events were contested in the ILCA-7, ILCA-6 for men and women, and ILCA-4 for boys and girls categories. The event was hosted by the EME Sailing Association under the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering in association with the International Laser Class Association and the Yachting Association of India.
