Indikator survey: 82.7% of mudik travelers satisfied with 2026 Lebaran programs

An Indikator Politik Indonesia survey shows 82.7% satisfaction among mudik travelers with Operasi Ketupat 2026, credited for smooth traffic flow and fewer accidents. Overall, 81% of respondents rated this year's operations better than last year's. Government programs like Mudik Gratis and food aid received high praise.

Jakarta, April 8, 2026 – A face-to-face survey by Indikator Politik Indonesia from March 29 to April 4, 2026, involving 1,200 respondents, revealed high public satisfaction with 2026 Lebaran mudik programs. Some 82.7% of mudik travelers expressed satisfaction with Operasi Ketupat 2026, which smoothed traffic flow and returns.

Lead Researcher Hendro Prasetyo highlighted the Mudik Gratis program, known to 55% of respondents, as the most helpful. "Mudik Gratis became the most helpful program in the eyes of mudik travelers. Massive involvement by various agencies successfully reduced transportation cost burdens while curbing road risks," he said on April 7, 2026.

Additionally, 59% were aware of food aid including 10 kg of rice and 2 liters of cooking oil, while 49% benefited from fuel price stability guarantees. Transport fare discounts were known to 38% of respondents, toll discounts to 34%, and work-from-anywhere policy for civil servants to 29%.

Executive Director Burhanuddin Muhtadi noted that 79.8% of respondents rated this year's operations as reducing traffic accidents compared to the previous year. Korlantas Polri Chief Irjen Agus Suryonugroho appreciated the survey results, thanking stakeholders and Kapolri Listyo Sigit Prabowo for strategic guidance.
