WWE wrestler Jacob Fatu described his training sessions with musician Jelly Roll ahead of the latter's debut at SummerSlam 2025. In an interview on Bootleg Kev, Fatu praised Jelly Roll's transformation and humility. He highlighted Jelly Roll's actions after workouts as particularly impressive.
Jacob Fatu, speaking on Bootleg Kev, recalled training with Jelly Roll prior to the musician's WWE debut at SummerSlam 2025. During that event, Jelly Roll teamed with Randy Orton against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, after preparing with Fatu and others including Stacks (Channing Lorenzo) and another wrestler unnamed in the discussion. Fatu noted Jelly Roll's physical transformation, stating, “You see cats come in all the time and just get it in. You’ve seen the transformation in him. But it was more than that. It was when I got out the ring with this guy from training and it wasn’t just me. Shout out to Stacks (Channing Lorenzo) and shout out to the other homie.” What stood out to Fatu was Jelly Roll's post-training conduct. After sweaty sessions, when it came time to clean the ring—sweep, spray, and wipe—Jelly Roll insisted on doing the work himself. Fatu recounted, “I saw this man. He up to the homie and said, ‘No, no. Let me clean it.’ He’s like, ‘No, no, I got it, sir.’ He said, ‘Nah, bro. Give it. Tell me what I got to do.’ He’s not making a scene about it... [He] just cleaned the whole ring, did what he had to do, wiped his feet. But I also saw the love and the passion.” Fatu connected this to wrestling's appeal: “Professional wrestling brings different colors, different cultures, different backgrounds all together.” Jelly Roll is set to face Kit Wilson on the March 27 episode of WWE SmackDown, following a segment with Wilson the previous week.
