Julianne Nicholson will reprise her Emmy-winning role as Lori Ross in season 2 of the HBO series Task. The casting announcement links Task to creator Brad Ingelsby's earlier show Mare of Easttown.
Nicholson joins a growing ensemble that includes Edgar Ramirez as Miguel Contreras and Mahershala Ali as Eddie Barnes. Other cast members announced earlier are Harry Melling, Adam Nagaitis and Aminah Nieves.
Task follows Tom Brandis, played by Mark Ruffalo, as he leads a new task force. The series is set in Philadelphia's working-class suburbs, the same region featured in Mare of Easttown.
Mare of Easttown premiered on HBO in 2021 and starred Kate Winslet. Task debuted last September and was renewed for a second season in November. No premiere date for the new season has been set.
