Kaizer Chiefs fans hand-deliver memorandum in Naturena

Disgruntled supporters of Kaizer Chiefs marched to the club's Naturena headquarters on March 7, 2026, to hand over a memorandum demanding changes amid a string of losses. The fans expressed frustration over recent defeats, including a 3-0 loss to Orlando Pirates, and called for a local coach. Some have initiated boycotts of matches and merchandise.

A season that began promisingly for Kaizer Chiefs has turned frustrating for fans, with the team suffering four consecutive defeats. On March 7, 2026, a group of supporters marched to the club's Naturena base, where they delivered a memorandum outlining their demands for action from management.

The recent 3-0 defeat to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby last weekend particularly stung the supporters. One protester said, “We are so hurt as supporters of Kaizer Chiefs. The management doesn’t care anymore as Chiefs keep on losing. There is no progress in the team.” Another added, “Some of our branch members are selling us out. They were even threatening us, saying that if we come here we will know them. Now, I’m telling them, we are not afraid of anything coming from the branches side, because fans are angry.”

Fans criticized the decision to fire coach Nasreddine Nabi, with one stating, “Khosi for life. The most important thing that I think Kaizer Motaung jr. did is to destabilize our entire season by firing coach Nabi. Coach Nabi prepared the team in pre-season. There was a proper foundation.”

The group was allowed to present their concerns inside the Kaizer Chiefs Village. The march organizer reported, “Iyathembisa bafethu. We stressed the fact that we don’t want those coaches to go to the next game. They need to address that as soon as yesterday. We need a local coach that understands our football. We went inside and sat on the table (with) Kemiso, we had Vina, and we had Tracy.”

Supporters suggested appointing a local coach, naming Pitso Mosimane and Benni McCarthy as potential solutions. One fan pleaded, “My plea to the team management is to get us Coach Pitso. I think he can be able to turn things around. We are losing weight because of this team.” Another said, “They should try Benni or Pitso. Maybe we can bounce back. Some of us are elders, and we will suffer heart attack because of Chiefs.”

Kaizer Chiefs officials were not available for comment. The club's next match is against Durban City at FNB Stadium on March 15.
