Katy Perry's Watch It Burn tops new music poll

Katy Perry's latest single, Watch It Burn, has been voted the favorite new music release of the week in a Billboard poll. The track received 27 percent of the votes, ahead of releases from TEEKS and Sombr.

Listeners voted in the poll published on Friday, June 26. The results were tallied at the poll's closing time on Sunday, with Perry taking the top spot.

The song features Perry expressing frustration in its lyrics. She sings about giving up after years of trying to rise above, and declares a desire to light a match and watch the past burn.

Watch It Burn follows Perry's previous single Bandaids, which was released in November. Her last full-length studio album, 143, came out in 2024 and reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200.

Other top vote-getters included TEEKS with My Boy at 18 percent and Sombr with My Body Isn’t Ready at 16 percent. The track was released with a music video directed by Christian Breslauer.
