La Paciencia reaches No. 1 on Billboard's year-end Latin producers chart

Roberto Rosado, known as La Paciencia, has topped Billboard's year-end Latin Producers chart for 2025, thanks to his contributions to Bad Bunny's blockbuster album Debí Tirar Más Fotos. The producer, who has collaborated with the Puerto Rican superstar for over a decade, shared insights into their creative process and future plans in an interview with Billboard Español. His work helped the album achieve widespread acclaim and chart dominance.

La Paciencia's ascent to the top spot stems from his production on 18 Bad Bunny songs that appeared on the Hot Latin Songs chart, accumulating 13 weeks at No. 1. This marked a pivotal year for the duo, whose partnership began around 11 years ago with early tracks like "Diles" and "Me Acostumbré" from Bad Bunny's SoundCloud era. Those initial collaborations, produced with care in informal studio sessions, propelled Bad Bunny's rise to global stardom.

Debí Tirar Más Fotos, released in 2025, became an era-defining project under La Paciencia's guidance. He focused on mixing Bad Bunny's vocals to ensure perfection, as he explained: "What I do in the studio is mix his voice to make sure everything sounds perfect." The album hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top Latin Albums, holding the position for multiple weeks. It also topped Billboard's 100 Best Albums of 2025 and 25 Best Latin Albums lists, earning Bad Bunny multiple Grammy nominations and five Latin Grammy wins, including album of the year.

While La Paciencia played a key role, he credited collaborators like Tainy, MAG, Big Jay, Irizarry, and Anthony for the album's success. Tracks like "Café con Ron," recorded nearly two years earlier during Las Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián in Puerto Rico, captured the island's vibrant energy. MAG co-produced it after Bad Bunny spontaneously suggested recording. Similarly, "Nuevayol" drew subtle inspiration from New York trips and Puerto Rican pride, referencing Gran Combo's "Un Verano en Nueva York."

La Paciencia's favorite, "Perfumito Nuevo" featuring RaiNao, reached No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart dated January 3, 2026. He described the studio vibe with Bad Bunny as familial: "Right now, I can’t see myself working with anyone else. He’s my brother." Looking ahead, he plans to join Bad Bunny's full tour—having toured since 2018—and perform at the Super Bowl. Post-tour, a new album is in the works, alongside independent projects, including potential work with childhood idol Arcángel.

La Paciencia's roots trace to his stepfather's studio, where he started mixing vocals at age 12 or 13. Influenced by Arcángel, Don Omar, Tego Calderón, 50 Cent, and Eminem, he remains dedicated to Latin urban sounds.
