Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift earn 2026 Emmy music nominations

Lady Gaga received a nomination for outstanding original music and lyrics for her song “The Dead Dance” from the series Wednesday. Taylor Swift’s concert film The Eras Tour: The Final Show earned five nominations, including for outstanding variety special. Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX Halftime Show received a record nine nods.

The nominations for the seven music categories at the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on July 8. Gaga co-wrote the song with Andrew Watt and Henry Walter Russell. This marks her first Emmy nomination for songwriting.

Taylor Swift’s film captured the final show of her Eras Tour at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver. It is nominated for outstanding variety special pre-recorded, directing, picture editing, sound mixing, and technical direction.

Bad Bunny’s halftime performance at Super Bowl LX earned the most nominations ever for such a show. Other nominees include songs from The Boys, Hacks, The Pitt, South Park, and Spider-Noir.

Hans Zimmer earned his eighth nomination for composing on Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age. Nora Felder received a nod for music supervision on Stranger Things.
