Liberalerna in Dalarna struggles with candidate lists in several municipalities

Liberalerna in Dalarna is struggling to find candidates for the 2026 election and lacks viable politicians in several municipalities. Candidate lists must be registered with Valmyndigheten by April 9. The party is working until the last minute to address issues in places like Vansbro, Mora, and Leksand.

Liberalerna's Dalarna branch faces a tough challenge ahead of the 2026 municipal election. With just over five months until the vote, parties must submit names of candidates who have consented to appear on ballots. The deadline is tomorrow, April 9, for registration with Valmyndigheten.

The party completely lacks names in Älvdalen, Orsa, Hedemora, and Säter. The situation also looks problematic elsewhere in the region.

"We are working until the last minute, though. We are trying with Vansbro, Mora, and Leksand now," says Martina Elfström (L). She notes that recruitment targets both existing members and people previously unengaged.
