The Voynich Code, a technical deathcore band from Lisbon, Portugal, has released a new single titled Earth Sleeper. The track follows a previous release and comes after a lineup change within the group. It is now available on streaming platforms.
The Voynich Code formed in 2013 and gained recognition with their debut full-length album, Aqua Vitae, in 2017. That release led to extensive European tours, festival appearances, and a headlining tour through Japan and Asia.
In 2023, the band signed with Unique Leader Records and issued their sophomore album, Insomnia, in October. The 12-track record was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson.
The new single, Earth Sleeper, arrives after the band's May 2025 release of Serpents Meridian. That earlier single coincided with a significant lineup adjustment. Jack Kinsey joined as the new frontman, replacing Nelson Rebelo. Jack Higgs became the new guitarist, while Vinicius Cunha moved from guitar to bass. André Afonso remained on guitar, and Daniel Torgal continued on drums.
Earth Sleeper is accessible on all major streaming platforms, marking another step for the Lisbon-based group in the technical deathcore scene.
