The Fadnavis government has decided to extend eight educational schemes to Maratha students on par with the OBC category.
The Maharashtra government has decided to extend educational facilities to Maratha students on the same lines as the OBC category. They will now receive benefits including post-tenth scholarships, scholarships for tenth and twelfth standards, and driver and conductor training. A total of eight schemes have been included. These cover sixteen types of reimbursements, admissions to professional courses, benefits on seats left vacant after the centralized admission process, and automatic inclusion in all future schemes. Announced in Mumbai on June 5, the move will allow Maratha students access to both grant-in-aid and non-grant colleges. The decision follows long-standing demands from the Maratha community.
