A 26-year-old father was fatally shot while attempting to stop a fight between two women at a Los Angeles pizza restaurant during his birthday celebration. The incident occurred on Saturday at Red West Pizza in the Wilmington neighborhood.
Andres Castellas was with family and friends at the restaurant when the altercation began. He intervened to separate the women, but a man pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking Castellas and a restaurant employee in his 20s. Castellas was pronounced dead at the scene, while the employee was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Los Angeles police.
