Mark Duplass defends Kane Parsons as Backrooms director

Mark Duplass has pushed back against online rumors questioning whether Kane Parsons directed the upcoming A24 horror film Backrooms. The actor posted on X on Tuesday to affirm Parsons' full control of the project.

Duplass responded to a social media claim that Parsons “absolutely didn’t direct” the film. He wrote, “Hmmm, with all due respect I don’t remember seeing you on set. When I was there, Kane was 100% in control. More so than many directors 3x his age.” The 20-year-old filmmaker created the story from his popular YouTube series of the same name.
