Chile's Ministry of Sport (Mindep) announced on Thursday the start of working groups to draft the regulation for the Professional Sports Limited Companies Law (SADP). The process kicks off on May 4 with the ANFP and aims to engage various sports institutions. Minister Natalia Duco highlighted the government's commitment to dialogue.

Chile's Ministry of Sport, led by Minister Natalia Duco, announced on Thursday the launch of working groups to draft the regulation for the Professional Sports Limited Companies Law (SADP). These sessions will also support the Federation and League in developing their statutes.

The schedule starts on May 4 with the ANFP, continues on May 5 with SIFUP and ANJUF, and on May 7 with the Sports Journalists Circle. Efforts are underway to schedule meetings with ANFA, the Sports Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, and other parliamentarians involved in the legislation. Invitations will extend to the National Basketball League and federations of team sports that may become SADPs in the future.

In a statement, Mindep stated that “the purpose of these actions is to create instances that make the regulation as clear as possible and benefit all involved for its best implementation. Although the content of these meetings will not be binding, it will be a space for dialogue to achieve the greatest number of agreements leading to the law's proper implementation”.

Minister Duco recalled that “the spirit of President José Antonio Kast's Government has always been to converse with all sectors involved in this reform's discussion. That is why we met with them before its approval and committed to accompanying this entire process to build a robust and representative law”.
