Ministry of Public Works Accelerates Phase II Sekolah Rakyat Construction

The Ministry of Public Works is accelerating construction of Phase II Sekolah Rakyat facilities to ensure they are ready for the 2026/2027 school year.

Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo said the ministry collaborates almost daily with Danantara to resolve financial or other obstacles. As of 4 June 2026 the average physical progress across 93 locations reached 71.13 percent. The five locations with the highest progress are Semarang City at 86.58 percent, Sragen Regency at 86.09 percent, Bengkulu City at 85.77 percent, Medan City at 85.69 percent, and Sidenreng Rappang Regency at 84.83 percent. Construction at those five sites is scheduled for completion on 20 June 2026. The project has absorbed 78,113 workers.
