Multiple crash on Buga-Buenaventura road kills girl

A multiple vehicle crash occurred on the Buga-Buenaventura road in Valle del Cauca, resulting in a girl's death and a woman's injury. Six vehicles were involved in a chain of collisions started by a tanker truck. The road remains closed for rescue and removal operations.

The incident took place on December 3, 2025, in a stop-and-go zone on the Buga-Buenaventura road. According to the official report, a tanker truck with plates ZNL-306, heading from Buga to Buenaventura, rear-ended a red camper with plates JEP VKG-548, driven by Apolinar Méndez Pérez, who was unharmed.

The tanker truck then collided with a blue tractor-trailer with plates UYV-698, operated by Elver Ocampo, also uninjured. This vehicle ended up on top of a white car with plates KWQ-684, carrying two women: an adult who was rescued alive by Buenaventura firefighters, and a girl who died from the impact's severity.

The white car, pushed by the collision, hit a white tractor-trailer with plates TDS-694, driven by Jorge Gregorio Marroquín Rodas, unharmed. Finally, this one struck a yellow truck with plates SQZ-320, driven by Fredy Arturo Peña Reyes, who was not injured.

The tanker truck driver was the only one injured and was taken to Buenaventura hospital for evaluation. The road is fully closed due to the complexity of vehicle removal. Authorities are investigating the causes and responsibilities of the crash.
