Netizens debate LE SSERAFIM Eunchae comment on students

A 2023 Weverse clip of LE SSERAFIM member Eunchae resurfaced and drew mixed reactions from netizens. Some viewed her remarks about high school life as condescending while others defended the comment as empathetic.

In the clip from a live broadcast the night before a 2023 fan meeting, Eunchae addressed viewers about early school wake-up times. She stated, “That must be tough. So tough… I know what it’s like. I also had to wake up at 7.”

Netizens accused her of mocking students after the clip spread in March 2024. A now-deleted post by @chonnong_s gained nearly 18 million views and read, “It sounds like YOU could use some schooling, too.” Critics linked it to a separate grammatical error in one of her posts about Red Velvet’s Wendy.

Other users pushed back by sharing the full clip. @alljot1 noted that all LE SSERAFIM members related to the students’ struggles and rooted for them. A Theqoo post with around 60,000 views called the backlash unwarranted and attributed much of the criticism to jealousy from fans her age.
