NHL Draft night brings three major trades

The NHL Draft featured several high-profile trades as teams exchanged established players for draft picks. Mason McTavish, Pavel Dorofeyev and JJ Peterka all changed clubs during the night.

Anaheim Ducks sent forward Mason McTavish to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for first-round picks numbered 15 and 29. The Ducks used pick 15 on Nikita Klepov and later routed pick 29 to Vegas Golden Knights for pick 28, which they used on Marcus Nordmark.

Vegas Golden Knights traded Pavel Dorofeyev to the New York Rangers for pick 26, a third-round selection and a conditional first-round pick in 2028. Dorofeyev had led Vegas with 37 goals last season.

Boston Bruins acquired JJ Peterka from Utah Mammoth for first-round pick 23 and a conditional 2028 first-rounder. Utah then used pick 23 to obtain goaltender Sebastian Cossa from the Detroit Red Wings.
