Nike releases new colorways of its original Moon Shoe

Nike has launched three fresh colorways for its iconic Moon Shoe, the brand's first-ever sneaker from 50 years ago. The collaboration with Japanese brand Emmi introduces deep navy blue, buttery yellow, and crisp white options. The retro design retains its classic suede and nylon upper with the signature waffle-iron outsole.

The Moon Shoe, Nike's oldest model, debuted 50 years ago with a distinctive outsole crafted using an actual waffle iron, leaving crater-like impressions on surfaces. This innovation marked the humble beginnings of the Swoosh brand. The shoe features a slim suede and nylon upper paired with an extended white Swoosh, elements that continue to define its enduring appeal. Available now on the Nike website for $180, it reflects the model's evolution from kitchen ingenuity to high-fashion status. Nike collaborated with Japanese fashion brand Emmi to produce these new variants: a deep navy blue, buttery yellow, and crisp white iteration. The design preserves the original stylings that propelled its early success. Over the years, the Moon Shoe has influenced luxury brands, inspiring Moon Shoe-adjacent sneakers from Maison Margiela and Louis Vuitton. It has also featured in elegant Jacquemus collaborations, underscoring its lasting impact in sneaker culture.
