Nike to drop Lawson Air Max 95 sneakers on July 25

Nike will release its latest Air Max 95 Big Bubble model in a blue sapphire colorway inspired by Japan's Lawson convenience store chain. The sneakers are scheduled to launch July 25 via the SNKRS app at a price of $200. A similar 7-Eleven-themed version was previously pulled from release plans.

The new pair features blue suede uppers, grey accents and red outlines that draw from Lawson's signature logo. Nike is marketing them simply as the "Blue Sapphire and Action Red" sneakers without any official collaboration tie-in.

The release follows an earlier Air Max 95 design based on 7-Eleven colors that had been scheduled for July 11. That version was removed from calendars after the convenience store chain sued Nike over use of its trademarked colors.

The oversized Big Bubble Air unit returns in the heel of the Lawson model, reviving a detail from the shoe's original 1990s design. The company describes the silhouette as the flyest way to get around, even for a quick store run.
