Nygårds Karin Bengtsson exhibits at Rättviks konsthall

Artist Nygårds Karin Bengtsson, born in Mora and active in Skåne, now shows works at Rättviks konsthall. The exhibition stems from a visit to Övralid.

Everything began with a place. Nygårds Karin Bengtsson had driven past the sign to Övralid for many years before she turned off.

There she found Verner von Heidenstam's last home, a white house that evoked a strong sense of loneliness. She describes how the feeling was embedded in the walls.

The artist believes everyone carries loneliness. The exhibition at Rättviks konsthall builds on that experience.

In Hedemora, Erik has created an extraordinary henhouse featuring secret doors, 18th-century hinges, and an underground tunnel for his eight hens. Originally planned as a playful house for his own use, the project turned into a luxurious hen home due to rising costs. The house resembles Pettson's and is located in a village outside Garpenberg.
