Nynäs Castle to reopen after savings requirement

Nynäs Castle will reopen its doors on June 20 after parts were closed last year due to Region Sörmland's savings requirement.

Sörmlands Museum has taken over responsibility for public operations at Nynäs Castle. This gives the museum greater opportunities and more resources to handle the cultural offerings.

Natalia Berggren, communications manager at Sörmlands Museum, says no one wanted the closure to become permanent. The museum has prepared a summer program with exhibitions and activities during the spring.

The castle, exhibitions, farm shop and restaurant will be open all summer. Several activities for children are also planned. The closure was part of cuts where Region Sörmland would save just over 24 million kronor during 2025.
