Obsidian Entertainment announced a free upgrade for owners of the original The Outer Worlds but later said it could not be provided on PlayStation and Xbox due to technical issues.
The studio had delisted the base game this month and promised the Spacer’s Choice Edition at no cost to those who owned the original version before May 27. The offer was posted on Steam on April 30 and applied across multiple platforms including PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Many players purchased the base game ahead of the deadline after the initial next-gen port required an extra payment for upgrades.
