Old Crow Medicine Show releases first holiday album OCMS Xmas

The two-time Grammy-winning band Old Crow Medicine Show has unveiled its debut holiday album, OCMS Xmas, through Hartland Records. The release includes a visualizer for the track Holly Jolly Christmas, drawing on nostalgic band photos. This project marks a festive addition to their roots music catalog.

Old Crow Medicine Show, known for their chart-topping take on American roots music, entered the holiday season with the launch of OCMS Xmas on December 25, 2025. This is the band's first dedicated holiday album, comprising 11 original songs and just two covers, infused with seasonal cheer and the group's signature string-band energy.

Accompanying the album's release is a visualizer for Holly Jolly Christmas, which features archival photographs of the band members from past Christmases. For fans seeking physical copies, a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl is available with purchases of the OCMS Xmas LP at select independent record stores. This exclusive pressing, tied to Record Store Day Black Friday, includes two non-streaming tracks: Christmas In The Trenches and San Francisco Christmas, the latter featuring The Secret Sisters.

The tracklist spans festive themes, from Breakin’ Up Xmas and Corn Whiskey Christmas to more reflective pieces like Grandpa’s Gone and Bethlehem, PA. Happy Xmas (War Is Over) serves as one of the covers, alongside Holly Jolly Christmas featuring Brassville.

This holiday effort follows a milestone year for the band. In 2023, they marked their 25th anniversary with the Grammy-nominated album Jubilee. More recently, they delivered an NPR Tiny Desk Concert and reissued their debut album O.C.M.S. on vinyl, remastered from original analog tapes by producer David Rawlings.

OCMS Xmas highlights Old Crow Medicine Show's enduring appeal in blending tradition with innovation in roots music.
