Two suspected rapes have been reported during Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, one involving a child. One person has been detained.
Around 45 000 participants from around the world visited Gothenburg during the past week to take part in Gothia Cup. Several crime reports were filed during the same period, including two suspected rapes.
Police spokesperson Tamara Fuentes confirmed that one person is detained on suspicion of one of the rapes. The investigation is ongoing.
The second case involves rape against a child and unlawful privacy intrusion. No suspects have been detained in that matter. Several reports of fights and assaults have also been filed during the tournament.
