Emma Åström scored both goals as Örebro SK kicked off the Elitettan season with a 2-1 home win over newcomers Enskede IK. The match at Behrn Arena ended tensely after a late concession.
Örebro SK launched the Elitettan season with a 2–1 win (1–0) over Enskede IK at home in Behrn Arena, Örebro. In front of 412 spectators, Emma Åström opened the scoring in the 8th minute and added a second from a free kick in the 58th.
Enskede pulled one back through Tilda Krusnell in the 83rd minute, leading to tense final minutes, but ÖSK held firm through teamwork.
"We work damn hard. It's the opener and there are nerves. A really good team effort," said Emma Åström.
She called the first goal lucky on the rebound from Sara Öjebo and the second the result of recent free-kick practice.
"It's always tough being under pressure, especially when you want to hold the lead. But we work hard as a team and solve it," she added.
ÖSK dominated possession in Enskede's half and created chances. Yellow cards went to Emma Åström (ÖSK) and Nicole Lundström (Enskede). Referee Damir Civic officiated.
The three points boost confidence ahead of the away game against Elfsborg on April 3.
"It's damn fun, and good to have the first match done. There's a damn good feeling in the team," Åström said.
