Carolina Panthers long snapper J.J. Jansen said the Pittsburgh Steelers will be a mediocre team again this season.
Jansen made the comments recently on the NFL Daily podcast. He predicted the Steelers would finish with a record around 9-8 or 10-7.
The team won the AFC North in 2025 but lost in the playoffs. New head coach Mike McCarthy replaced Mike Tomlin ahead of the 2026 season.
Jansen noted the presence of star quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow in the division. He said Pittsburgh lacks similar star power despite Aaron Rodgers returning for what he has called his final season.
The Steelers host the Panthers in Week 16.
