Peacock sets July premiere for Jennifer Garner's 'The Five Star Weekend'

Peacock has scheduled the premiere of 'The Five Star Weekend,' starring Jennifer Garner, for July 16 with all eight episodes. The series adapts Elin Hilderbrand's novel and follows a grieving cook hosting a getaway with friends on Nantucket. Co-stars include D'Arcy Carden, Gemma Chan and others.

Jennifer Garner leads the cast of 'The Five Star Weekend' on Peacock, an adaptation of the novel by Elin Hilderbrand. All eight episodes will launch on Thursday, July 16. Garner plays Hollis Shaw, described in the official logline as 'a famed cook and best selling author known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor, who suffers a devastating loss.' The plot details how this loss reveals issues in her life, including 'her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter, and her growing pursuit of validation from her fans.' To cope, Hollis organizes a weekend at her Nantucket home with friends from different life stages—childhood, twenties, thirties—and a surprise fifth guest. The story unfolds against a coastal backdrop where 'boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed.' Joining Garner are D'Arcy Carden, Gemma Chan, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Harlow Jane and Timothy Olyphant. No trailer has been released yet. The announcement appears alongside other scheduling updates, such as Netflix's 'This Is a Gardening Show' with Zach Galifianakis premiering April 22 and Prime Video's 'American Gladiators' reboot on April 17.
