PGN inaugurates WiFi corners at two Jambi universities

Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), through its affiliate Gasnet, handed over high-speed WiFi Corner facilities at two universities in Jambi to support student internet access. The facilities aim to serve thousands of students at Universitas Islam Negeri Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi and Universitas Muhammadiyah Jambi. This step is part of PGN's CSR program for an inclusive educational ecosystem.

On November 25 and 26, 2025, PGN along with PT Telemedia Dinamika Sarana (Gasnet) handed over WiFi Corner facilities at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. This facility can be used by around 10,000–20,000 students. The following day, on November 26, the WiFi Corner was inaugurated at Universitas Muhammadiyah (UM) Jambi, targeted to serve 3,500–5,000 students.

PGN Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman stated that the initiative supports a modern and adaptive educational ecosystem. "Access to the internet is now an important element in the learning process. PGN through Gasnet is committed to providing connectivity that can drive student productivity and innovation. This is our form of support for improving the quality of education in Indonesia," said Fajriyah on November 28, 2025.

Rector of UIN STS Jambi, Prof. Kasful Anwar, appreciated the facility. "The WiFi Corner greatly helps lecture activities. It can also support other academic activities. Therefore, quality internet access is an important need," he said.

Gasnet President Director Rikhi Narang emphasized the importance of stable internet for learning. "We want to ensure that students throughout Indonesia, including in Jambi, have the same opportunity to access quality internet," stated Rikhi. He added that the program will be expanded through collaborations with more universities, aligning with the government's digital transformation in education.
