The Mega Dimension DLC arrives on December 10, 2025, priced at $30 or £24.99. It expands the game with a storyline set after the main quest, focusing on spatial distortions around Lumiose City that create Hyperspace Lumiose—an alternate reality filled with powerful Pokémon and rare Mega Evolutions not found in the base game.
Breaking the Level Cap
In a series first, wild Pokémon in Hyperspace can surpass level 100, with examples like a level 164 Galarian Marowak showcased in trailers. These "Hyperspace Levels" pose significant challenges, prompting fan reactions of surprise and excitement. As one Twitter user noted, "IM SORRY LEVEL 162?? DUDE??" while another appreciated the roguelite approach: "eternally glad that Pokémon being above Level 100 for the first time is built around a cool roguelite mode."
New Mechanics and Characters
Guided by doughnut chef Ansha and the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa, players gather berries to craft donuts that temporarily boost their team's levels and grant effects for battling high-level foes. Hoopa's powers activate portals to Hyperspace using these donuts, including potent Hyperspace Berries for tougher encounters. The mode incorporates roguelike elements, with multiple runs using different loadouts.
Confirmed Mega Evolutions
New forms include Mega Chimecho, which creates six smaller copies for an intense sound-wave attack, and Mega Baxcalibur, generating a massive ice-energy blade for cleaving or smashing. The Baxcalibur Mega Stone is earned through online Ranked Battles in the Z-A Battle Club.
Additionally, a free side-mission, 'Shine Bright like a Gemstone,' is available now via Mystery Gift, allowing players to obtain a Diancite Stone and catch Diancie at the Looker Bureau.
