The Premier Jumping League (PJL) has launched with a $300 million prize pot and a strong emphasis on horse and rider welfare. The new series features 16 teams competing at 14 venues across Europe, the US and the Middle East, starting in March 2027. Backed by McCourt Global, it aims to professionalize showjumping for full-time athletes.
The PJL announced its plans this week, a year before the first competitions from March to October 2027. It will select riders from the top 250 showjumpers worldwide for the inaugural season. A PJL spokesperson described the league as a groundbreaking global competition built on merit, integrity and excellence, elevating high-performance riders and horses.
