Project Songbird announces March 2026 release date

Developer Fyre Games has revealed that its psychological horror game Project Songbird will launch on March 26, 2026. The title draws clear inspiration from the Silent Hill series through its isolated setting and surreal elements. Players will control Dakota, a musician facing eerie threats in the Appalachian forest.

Fyre Games, known for titles like Summerland and We Never Left, first unveiled Project Songbird in 2024. The game centers on a narrative-driven experience where Dakota, a musician grappling with writer's block, retreats to a remote log cabin in the Appalachian forest to record a new album. As creativity eludes them, disturbing creatures and oddities emerge from the woods, turning the isolation into a nightmare that demands confrontation. The synopsis describes it as: “Set deep beneath the isolating canopy of the Appalachian forest, Project Songbird is a grippingly surreal and psychological tale which explores the dark side of the creative process.” It continues: “Players will take on the role of Dakota, a struggling career musician who, while suffering from writer’s block, heads to a remote log cabin to record their new album. As they search amongst the pines for a spark of creativity, they soon discover something more lurks in the darkness – and that not all inspirations are positive.” This setup echoes Silent Hill's hallmarks, including trippy environments, a solitary protagonist, and grotesque monsters visible in the latest trailer. While 2026 promises a strong lineup for horror enthusiasts, with confirmed releases like Resident Evil Requiem and Hellraiser: Revival, Project Songbird stands out for its focus on psychological depth. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms, offering fans of atmospheric horror a fresh entry influenced by Konami's classic saga.
