At a club in Falkenberg, Brandenburg, racist chants erupted last Saturday during a party for about 100 to 150 children and teenagers from age 11. Club owner Tino Veit said the planned DJ did not show up. He played a playlist that included 'L'Amour toujours', prompting the youths to sing racist slogans. Veit was busy finding a replacement DJ at the time. The substitute DJ played the song again later and was surprised by the reaction. Noticing the escalation, Veit went on stage, turned down the music, and noted that the lyrics did not belong to the song. He regretted the incident, especially at a children's event, and plans to better prepare DJs for such situations. Veit stressed he is open-minded and against radical views. Minister President Dietmar Woidke criticized on Instagram: 'Youths chant Nazi slogans and no one intervenes. I am speechless. We must never stay silent on this!' He pointed out it took two song loops before intervention. The over 20-year-old hit 'L'Amour toujours' has no lyrics in its refrain and is repeatedly misused for racist chants, as seen in a 2024 incident on Sylt.
