Reanimal announces February 2026 release and console demo

Tarsier Studios, creators of Little Nightmares, has revealed a February 13, 2026, release date for its new co-op horror game Reanimal. A demo is now available on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, with a Steam version already accessible. The game features single-player and co-op modes in a darker, grittier adventure.

Announcement Details

During the Xbox Partner Preview on November 20, 2025, Tarsier Studios announced that Reanimal will launch on February 13, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Cloud. The game marks Tarsier's first venture into local and online co-op alongside single-player, following Supermassive Games' Little Nightmares 3. A new trailer showcased additional locations and gameplay mechanics, highlighting exploration in a twisted, monster-filled world.

Story and Gameplay

Reanimal follows an orphaned brother and sister trapped on a hellish version of their home island, tasked with rescuing friends amid a fragmented, violent landscape. Players traverse on foot and by water, with opportunities for non-linear exploration. Tarsier describes the tone as "darker and grittier" compared to the studio's previous works. The narrative unfolds through co-op play, emphasizing survival and discovery in an atmospheric horror setting.

Demo and Editions

Console demos launched today on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, allowing players to sample the horrors immediately. A Steam demo has been available prior. Preorders are open, with the standard edition priced at £34.99 and the Digital Deluxe at £49.99, including three post-launch DLC chapters.
