Swedish pop artist Robyn has revealed her ninth studio album, Sexistential, set for release on March 27 via Young, marking her first full-length project since 2018's Honey. She accompanied the announcement with the title track and 'Talk To Me,' both debuted during a New Year's Eve performance in Brooklyn. The album explores themes of sensuality and personal experiences, including IVF.
Robyn, the Swedish pop icon, ended a nearly eight-year wait for new music by announcing Sexistential, her ninth studio album, on January 7, 2026. Scheduled for March 27 release via Young, the LP follows her 2018 album Honey and builds on the momentum from her recent single 'Dopamine,' which dropped in November 2025 along with a remix featuring Jamie xx. That track marked her live return with a performance at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, her first full show since 2019.
Co-produced with longtime collaborator Klas Åhlund, Sexistential delves into sensual and introspective themes. Robyn described the album's vibe as 'like a spaceship coming through the atmosphere at a really high speed and crash landing,' reflecting a return to self after expansive experiences. In a statement, she elaborated: 'Exploring my sensual life is the same feeling as when I make a good song. It’s such a beautiful kind of sensitive vibration that takes so much work to keep afloat. I feel like the purpose of my life is to stay horny — it doesn’t even have to be about sex, but it’s feeling sensual and attracted to things that I enjoy, and not letting anything take over that.'
The title track, 'Sexistential,' features a bold rap about one-night stands while 10 weeks pregnant via IVF, inspired by André 3000's comment that no one wants to hear him rap about a colonoscopy. 'It was my cue,' Robyn said. 'I have to do this, I have to write a rap about IVF.' Meanwhile, 'Talk To Me'—a 'hypnotizing haze of happiness' produced by Åhlund and Oscar Holter, and co-written with Max Martin for the first time since their 2010 collaboration 'Time Machine'—was penned during the pandemic. 'I wrote it during the pandemic when there was no way to be physical,' she noted. 'I like talkers, that turns me on.'
Both singles premiered at Robyn's New Year's Eve shows at Brooklyn Paramount, following her Times Square performance of 'Dancing On My Own' on CNN. The full tracklist includes: 1. 'Really Real,' 2. 'Dopamine,' 3. 'Blow My Mind,' 4. 'Sucker For Love,' 5. 'It Don’t Mean A Thing,' 6. 'Talk To Me,' 7. 'Sexistential,' 8. 'Light Up,' 9. 'Into The Sun.' The album will be available on CD, limited cassette, digital, and vinyl in colors like magenta and white. Robyn is set to perform the title track on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on January 8.
