Santiago metro security guard injured in fight at Pedro de Valdivia station

A security guard at Santiago Metro was injured after being attacked with a bladed weapon at Pedro de Valdivia station on Line 1.

The incident occurred after 08.30 hours on May 26. A subject was behaving violently inside a train heading to Los Dominicos. After being asked to exit, the attacker assaulted one of the transport company's workers.

Santiago Metro immediately activated its security protocols. Station staff contained the individual until Carabineros arrived. The guard received prompt medical attention and was taken to a health center.

The company reported that the worker is out of danger and in good health. The attacker was detained by Carabineros and placed at the disposal of police and judicial proceedings.
