Sarah Snook to star in The Birds limited series remake

Succession actress Sarah Snook will headline a limited-series remake of the Alfred Hitchcock classic The Birds. The project is currently being pitched to networks and streamers as a present-day reimagining set in Alaska.

The series centers on a murder mystery in which Snook plays Myra Massey, a traveling magistrate who returns to her Alaska hometown after her childhood friend is killed. Nature turns hostile with bird attacks as she investigates outside her judicial role, according to the official synopsis. Tom Spezialy, known for The Leftovers, will write the series and serve as executive producer.
