Saros game postpones launch to April 2026 after new trailer

Housemarque has delayed its upcoming third-person action game Saros by about a month, shifting the release from March 20 to April 30, 2026, exclusively on PS5. The announcement came alongside a new trailer at the Game Awards on December 11, 2025. The game stars actor Rahul Kohli as the protagonist Arjun Devraj.

During the Game Awards ceremony on December 11, 2025, Finnish studio Housemarque revealed that its anticipated title Saros will arrive later than planned. Originally set for March 20, 2026, the game now targets April 30, 2026, still as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. This delay follows the unveiling of a fresh trailer, which highlights the game's narrative and gameplay elements.

Saros builds on the roguelike foundations of Housemarque's previous hit, Returnal, but introduces refinements to player progression. Set on the forsaken colony of Carcosa, shrouded in a perpetual eclipse, players control Arjun Devraj, a Soltari Enforcer on a quest to locate a enigmatic figure. The studio describes Saros as "an emotional and powerful character study that explores the cost of creating a new future."

Rahul Kohli, known for roles in Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher, provides both the likeness and voice for Arjun, adding depth to the story. A key evolution from Returnal lies in resource management: unlike its predecessor, Saros features permanent upgrades and equipment retention across deaths. Housemarque notes that "every death will be precious," as each one alters the environment and unlocks fresh strategic paths.

Preorders remain available, giving fans a way to secure the game amid the extended wait. This update tempers enthusiasm with the promise of a more polished experience from the Returnal developers.
