SB19 announces ‘Wakas at Simula’ album with remastered tracks

At a press conference on March 23, P-pop group SB19 revealed the tracklist for their upcoming album ‘Wakas at Simula,’ set for release on March 27. It includes 24 tracks, with 6 new songs and remastered versions from past EPs.

On Monday, March 23, in Manila, Philippines, P-pop boy group SB19 held a press conference to unveil the tracklist for their upcoming album Wakas at Simula, due out on March 27. The 24-track album features 6 new songs, including collaborations with Japanese group BE:FIRST and artist JOLIN; 12 tracks from the 2023 EP PAGTATAG! and 2025 EP Simula at Wakas; and remastered versions of songs from their 2021 EP Pagsibol—What?, MAPA, Mana, Bazinga, Ikako, and SLMT—now labeled (Wakas at Simula). The remastering aims to secure ownership of the songs following a 2023 settlement with their former management, similar to Taylor Swift's approach. Justin stated, “For this era we’ll be more vocal, and we will be more confident about the things we want to say. We’ll make sure that we influence people in the right direction.” Ken discussed collaborations: “There were a lot of things that needed to be considered in terms of [the other artists’] vision, because they had their own tastes in music, so we had to consider that, too. Even the language, we had to be careful.” Stell noted, “One of the best things about going solo is that we were able to bring back the things we learned when we came back together to work on this album. Not only were we able to look back as a team, but also gained the perspective of an outsider.” Josh remarked on Lollapalooza, “Technically we’ve been preparing for this moment our entire lives.” Upcoming events include a concert on April 18 at SMDC Festival Grounds and a performance at Lollapalooza Chicago on July 30, the first by a Filipino act.
