British showjumper Scott Brash achieved a remarkable feat by winning two grands prix in one day at the HH The Father Amir’s Prix 2026 in Al Shaqab, Qatar. This victory came just two weeks after a similar double in Doha. The world number two credited his team's hard work for the success.
Scott Brash, the world number two showjumper, repeated his extraordinary achievement of winning two grands prix in a single day, this time at the HH The Father Amir’s Prix 2026 at Al Shaqab in Qatar. Just a fortnight earlier, he had accomplished the same in Doha. On this occasion, Brash first triumphed in the CSI3* grand prix aboard his European silver medal-winning partner Hello Folie, following a 13-way jump-off. He then claimed the five-star grand prix with the rising star Hello Mango, an 11-year-old mare owned by Lady Pauline Harris and Lady Pauline Kirkham, sired by Untouchable 27 out of Numero Uno. This marked Hello Mango's maiden international victory.
Brash described the day as exceptional, saying, “It was a great day. I’m in an unbelievable position right now. These results are many years of hard work from a lot of people behind the scenes – grooms, vets, physios, farriers… So I’m delighted for the whole team.” Reflecting on Hello Mango, he noted, “It’s been a while coming, but I’ve always thought she’s capable of doing something really good so it’s nice to actually achieve it.” He praised her attributes: “She’s super-scopey, she’s careful and she has a good stride – she has all the attributes – but she gets a little sharp sometimes, so it’s taken time to get her relaxed.” The pair finished nearly half a second faster than the competition in the jump-off, despite Brash feeling it was not perfect.
Hello Mango wore nasal strips to aid oxygen intake, as Brash explained, “She’s sharp, so she needs a bit more oxygen to support her system and we feel the strips help her.” For Hello Folie, who had two weeks off prior, Brash said, “She had two weeks off after jumping here the first week, so I thought the three-star was nice just to make life a bit easier for her and she skipped round it. It was nice to go last, so I could see what I needed to do, and she was great as always. She loves jumping, she loves what she does.”
British rider Millie Allen added to the success by winning Friday’s five-star speed class on the 10-year-old Quick Diamant HR.
