The Swedish Transport Agency has revoked the permit for a self-driving bus test project in Gothenburg following a May collision.
The self-driving bus collided with a tram in central Gothenburg during its premiere tour with passengers on board at the end of May. No one was injured in the accident, but the bus was taken out of service for investigation.
The Swedish Transport Agency decided to revoke the permit for the project. Investigator Magnus Sjönnebring told Göteborgs-Posten that the conditions for safe trial operations had not been met.
Per Nyrenius, project leader at Västtrafik, assesses the possibility of continuing the project as small.
